I love riding my bike, typically my truck is an expensive oversize driveway ornament unless I have to take the family somewhere, or do major grocery shopping. My bike is usually very busy, grocery shopping, Dr appts., going out, or simply riding. Today ended up doing some grocery shopping and eating lunch out with the wife, she usually doesn’t like riding with me in this weather, however even though for her 41 degrees is freezing cold, I wasn’t doing 65+, we were in town doing 30+ and a matter of a few blocks.

Even for those few blocks or even a mile I would always rather ride my bike instead of driving my truck or any car for that matter… I can see!!! being inside a vehicle is like being caged, to many “blind spots”. You got the a pillars, the mirrors, windows, doors, looking down at your speed, damn check engine light kicked on again, and most of all, the jibba jabba next to me. I still find myself just turning my head to look over my shoulders just to make sure no-one is there. On my bike, I can use all of my peripheral vision, I can feel and hear shit around me, I can see both of my mirrors while looking dead ahead, and most of all no cage in my way.

Parking is way to easy for a motorcycle, see a spot go into spot, in my truck see a spot, shit to small, see another spot oh there’s a small shitty car hiding in it, another spot, get there just as someone else pulling in… I will typically back my truck into a spot or pull forward through two spots to make my life easier. I will never park my truck so the front cannot be accessed, simply because I have had battery problems in the past and its a bitch pushing an almost 3 ton vehicle out of a spot to get a jump, and well its easier to see when pulling out of a driveway with a fucking Prius parked directly in-front of it.

So yea typically during my riding season, I will go through a set of tires, and 3 to 4 oil changes, my truck will typically get its oil changed every 6-8 months…

I really just wish I had another licensed driver in the house, so I can ride and the rest can follow in a vehicle…
